COLUMBIA, Mo. – Missouri State women's golf is positioned in 11th after 18 holes at the Johnie Imes Invitational, a 15-team event hosted by the University of Missouri in Columbia, Mo.

Leading the way for the Missouri State squad is sophomore
Abby Cavaiani (Wales, Wis.), recording 72 after round one and finishing the day in fourth place. Sophomore
Brooke Newell (Anita, Iowa) recorded 74 (+2), placing herself in eighth.Â
Freshman
Johanna Wollenhaupt and sophomore
Faith Belmear shot 79 and 84, respectively, while sophomore
Allison Bray shot 85. Junior
Bridget Schulte, competing individually, tallied 78.

Host Missouri leads in the early going after shooting 290, while the next four teams are separated by five strokes. Oral Roberts is at 296, followed by FIU (297), Arkansas State (301) and Illinois State (301).

Tournament play will continue at The Club at Old Hawthorne (Par 72, 6,204 yards) with 18 holes each Tuesday and Wednesday.
