SPRINGFIELD – Josh Dolling notched his fourth game-winning goal for the Missouri State men's soccer team as they prevailed in a 2-1 overtime thriller against Tulsa Saturday night at Betty and Bobby Allison South Stadium. 
 
The undefeated Bears completed the comeback in the late stages of the match, opening the season with four straight wins for the first time since 2000.
 
Tulsa broke open the scoring early in the match with a 7th minute goal off the foot of Harris Partain who slipped a shot past a diving Michael Creek, breaking the Bears' three-match shutout streak.
 
In the closing minutes of regulation, Hugo Jonsson dribbled past a pair of Tulsa defenders to find Ian Jones outside of the penalty box who scored the equalizer for the Bears.
 
Dolling sealed the win for the Bears in the 94th minute of play after he found himself one-on-one with the Tulsa goalkeeper.  Will Osgathorpe fired a pass up to Dolling who launched his fourth game-winner of the season to lead all of Division I.
 
Despite trailing for most of the match, MSU outshot Tulsa 11-3 and held a 5-1 advantage on corner kicks.  Dolling, Jones, and Aadne Bruseth combined for eight of the 11 shots for MSU, increasing the team total to 56 shots on the season.
 
"I'm so proud of our team for battling back and getting the win tonight", said head coach Jon Leamy.  "Our defense stepped up when we needed them to and the attack kept up the pressure and we were able to score a couple of big goals."
 
Missouri State closes out the three-match homestand with a midweek contest against Valparaiso on Wednesday, Sept. 18 at 12:00 p.m.
