ST. LOUIS– Senior
Fati Khamissi's perfect singles record to open league play over the weekend earned her Missouri Valley Conference Player of the Week honors, as announced by the conference Tuesday.
No. 3 Khamissi won both of her singles matches to guide the Bears to a perfect 2-0 record to open MVC play. Her 6-3, 6-3 straight-set victory against Drake in the third flight clinched the 4-3 win for MSU.
The previous day, Khamissi downed her UNI opponent 6-4, 6-0, as MSU swept the Panthers in singles for a commanding 6-1 win. This is the first time since the program's reinstatement the Bears have started league play 2-0.
This is Khamissi's first MVC Player of the Week accolade this season.
