TULSA, Okla. – The Missouri State women's tennis team proved unable to mount a singles comeback, falling to Oral Roberts, 5-2, in its nonconference finale at Bernis Duke Tennis Center.
Oral Roberts (6-16) started red-hot in doubles play, sweeping both matches to earn the 1-0 edge. No. 2 duo

Phoebe Boeschen had the chance to tie it but the Golden Eagles secured the point in the first flight, 6-1.
No. 5
Ellie Burger halted the Golden Eagles' scoring streak, winning in straight sets, 6-2, 6-2, to slice the lead to one. She currently holds a 12-3 spring singles record and has only dropped two of her past 10 matches.
The Golden Eagles prevented the MSU (9-10) comeback, collecting the next two singles points to clinch the match in the third flight.
Senior
Phoebe Boeschen notched the final point for the Bears in the No. 4 spot, besting her opponent 6-0, 7-5.
After a 2-0 start in league play, the Bears have dropped three straight.
MSU wraps up Missouri Valley Conference play with a stop at Valparaiso on Saturday, April 20 beginning at 10 a.m.
