SPRINGFIELD – Despite Missouri State's women's tennis team earning the early doubles point, Bradley tallied five singles points to spoil the Bears' senior day, 5-2, at Cooper Tennis Complex.
Anna Alons and
Alexia Meyer started MSU (9-9, 2-2 MVC) off in the winning column, overpowering the Braves (13-7, 2-1 MVC) 6-1 in the third flight.
The tandem of No. 1
Ellie Burger and
Alye Darter claimed the doubles point, along with the 1-0 lead, for the Bears, garnering a 6-3 decision.
Seniors
Fati Khamissi and
Phoebe Boeschen kept Bradley on edge throughout the final doubles match, but fell just shy as the Braves came out on top 7-6(5).
Heading to singles, Bradley erased the Bears' lead with a pair of quick decisions in the No. 2 and No. 1 spots.
Ellie Burger netted the game at two apiece in a straight-set 6-3, 7-6(3) victory, but the Braves captured the final three matches to clinch its second Missouri Valley victory of the spring.
Bradley tallied five of the six available singles points to extend the Bears' MVC skid.
MSU seeks to rebound in its penultimate regular season match, closing out its nonconference schedule at Oral Roberts on Wednesday, April 17 starting at 1 p.m.
