COLUMBIA, S.C. – Missouri State's school-record six-match beach volleyball win streak came to an end Friday at the Palmetto Invitational with losses to Charleston and No. 11 South Carolina at Wheeler Beach.

The Bears (11-10) got the day started against Charleston (16-2), with MSU's No. 3 pair of Sydney LeMay and Kylee Davis earning a three-set win to put Missouri State on the board. Julia Hanson and Kelsey Larsen also went three sets at the top of the lineup but fell to CofC's No. 1 duo, while MSU lost its remaining matches in straight sets.

Against the 11th-ranked Gamecocks (17-8), LeMay and Davis again went the distance, but fell 15-8 in the third set, while SC won the remaining four matches by 2-0 scores.

Missouri State fared well in the non-counting No. 6 match in both duals, as Veronica Snelling paired with Bentley Mara for a win against Charleston and Abby Jackson to beat South Carolina.

MSU wraps up the 2019 season Saturday with matches against UNC Wilmington at 8 a.m. and Tulane at 2 p.m.
