SPRINGFIELD – Missouri State's beach volleyball team won in 10 straight sets to earn a 5-0 sweep over Park conclude their 2019 home schedule Wednesday at the Betty & Bobby Allison Sand Volleyball courts.
In the No. 5 slot,
Ivy Reynolds and
Abby Jackson put the Bears on the board in a 21-8, 21-4 rout. The win was a first for the pair of Reynolds and Jackson this season.
Six minutes later, No. 3 duo
Sydney LeMay and
Veronica Snelling extended the Bears' lead, cruising to their own 21-9, 21-14 victory.
The Bears clinched the match in the second flight as
Mikaela Mosquera and
Kylee Davis held their opponents to a combined 13 points in a commanding 21-7, 21-6 decision.
No. 4 pair
Sarah Demmer and
Sam Brinkmann downed Park 21-5, 21-9, their third victory together this season.
Capping off scoring for the Bears, No. 1 duo
Julia Hanson and
Kelsey Larsen finalized the sweep with a 21-10, 21-10 for the team's 10th overall win. The victory maintained the pair's perfect streak in the first flight.
The Bears remained perfect at home this season, maintaining a 4-0 record.
With their home schedule complete, the Bears will travel to Monroe, La. to partake in the ULM Warhawk Challenge April 5-6.
