SPRINGFIELD – Missouri State's beach volleyball team swept Park, 5-0, to begin competition at the inaugural MSU Beach Invitational Friday evening at the Betty & Bobby Allison Sand Volleyball courts.
The Bears started off strong as No. 3 pair
Kylee Davis and
Sydney LeMay earned the commanding 21-12, 21-14 straight set victory to set the team on the winning course.
No. 5 pair
Sarah Demmer and
Sam Brinkmann added another point shortly after in a 21-13, 21-9 blowout in front of a packed crowd.
Head Coach
Terri Del Conte's squad continued to roll as
Chloee McDaniel and
Mikaela Mosquera dominated in the second flight, downing their opponents 21-11, 21-17.
Moving onto the fourth flight,
Ivy Reynolds and
Bentley Mara battled to garner the 21-12, 21-17 decision. Reynolds and Mara remain perfect on the season in the No. 4 spot.
Kelsey Larsen and
Julia Hanson completed the Bears' sweep, taking the 21-16, 21-8 rout in the first flight.
The Bears continue their home stand in a doubleheader against Ottawa and Missouri Baptist tomorrow, slated for 9 a.m. and 2 p.m., respectively.
