IRVINE, Calif. -- Missouri State's beach volleyball team improved to 5-2 on its Spring Break trip to California Friday with a 5-0 victory against Golden West College and 4-1 victory at Irvine Valley College.

All nine of MSU's (5-6) wins on the day came in straight sets, with the pairs of Kelsey Larsen and Kylee Davis at the No. 2 spot, and Bentley Mara and Sarah Demmer (Nos. 4 and 5) both going 2-0 to move their records above the .500 mark for the season.

Senior Ivy Reynolds also picked up two wins in the third flight, pairing once with Veronica Snelling and once with Mikaela Mosquera, while Sydney LeMay and Sam Brinkmann improved to 7-3 on the season by winning the No. 4 match against IVC. 

Against GWC, MSU's Abby Jackson and Sydney Wright won the No. 5 match to up their record to 2-0 this season.

MSU concludes its California trip Saturday with matches against No. 7 Cal Poly, 13th-ranked Loyola Marymount and Concordia Irvine. The action begins at 1 p.m. in Santa Monica.
