SPRINGFIELD -- Missouri State will play several exhibition volleyball contests this spring, with two tournaments and a pair of home matches on the docket. The Bears will compete in tournaments in Edwardsville, Ill., and Kansas City, Mo., before hosting Oral Roberts (April 16) and Arkansas (April 24) at Hammons Student Center. Start time for both home contests is 7 p.m., and they are free and open to the public.

Missouri State returns 12 players from last year's club posted the program's 20th consecutive winning record, both overall and in the Missouri Valley Conference. Much of the team's 2018 statistical production is back as well, including 77 percent of total kills, 84 percent of assists, 66 percent of aces, 59 percent of the digs and 76 percent of the blocking.

The 2019 Bears feature a trio of players with all-MVC honors on their resumes, including 2017 first-teamer and senior-to-be Aubrey Cheffey, and 2018 all-Freshman Team members Amelia Flynn and Chloe Rear.

Additionally, the Bears return senior Gerri Idos (389 career digs in 92 career matches), junior Laynie Dake (31 starts, 242 kills and .255 hitting percentage in 2018), and a large sophomore class that will include Flynn, Rear, Emelie Orlando, Alyssa Doucette, Izzy Gibbany, Sofia Orlando, Natali Petrova, Leah Vokolek and Makina Wratten.

Joining the Bears as freshmen for the fall season are Kennedee Anderson (S, Rogersville, Mo.), Brooklyn Cink (OH, Manhattan, Kan.), Kennedy Farris (DS, Leavenworth, Kan.), Azyah Green (MB, Springfield, Mo.), Holly Luginbill (DS, Ozark, Mo.), and Julia McCown (MB, Ozark, Mo.).
