SAN MARCOS, Texas – Despite a furious comeback mounted by the Missouri State women's tennis team (7-6), it fell just shy as Texas State pulled away for the 4-3 win in San Marcos, Texas Sunday afternoon.
Texas State (4-5) gained the doubles point after sweeping both matches in the first and second flights. No. 3 duo

Alexia Meyer held the 4-3 advantage before the Bobcats secured the early lead.
Missouri State sought to reverse the momentum in singles play, with No. 5
Phoebe Boeschen garnering the team's first point in a 6-1, 0-6, 6-3 decision. Texas State picked up another couple points before Khamissi claimed her own 4-6, 6-2, 7-6 win in the third flight.

Clara Gandara Gonzalez notched the Bears' final singles match, advancing to a three-set victory 7-6, 2-6, 6-1. The decision came late as Texas State already clinched the contest in the first flight.
It was a long day for the Bears, seeing five of the six singles matches going three sets.
The Bears remain in Texas for a matchup against University of Texas – San Antonio on Tuesday, March 12, starting at 10 a.m.
