SAN ANTONIO, Texas – Missouri State's women's team (7-7) competed well at University of Texas – San Antonio Tuesday afternoon, but ultimately fell 6-1 to the Roadrunners at UTSA Tennis Center.
Two UTSA (8-8) wins in the third and second set, respectively, earned them the doubles point and the early lead.
The Bears fell in the Nos. 1, 2, and 4 singles contests to allow UTSA to clinch the match.
Ellie Burger tallied the only singles win for the Bears, taking her opponent to three sets in the sixth flight. She rallied to victory in the third to secure the 6-4, 0-6, 10-2 decision.
"Even though we didn't get the results we wanted, we got some valuable experience playing in tough weather conditions," said head coach
Mallory Weber. "That will help us as we prepare for our conference slate in April."
Missouri will take a short hiatus before returning to action on Saturday, April 6 at UNI, with first serve slated for 1 p.m.
