COLUMBIA, Mo. -- Missouri State's tennis team competed well at 34th-ranked Missouri Saturday evening, but fell 4-0 to the Tigers at the Mizzou Tennis Complex.
"I'm really happy with how we competed, especially in doubles," said MSU head coach
Mallory Weber. "It's tough matches like this that make us better for our conference season."
The Bears (4-3) had a chance at the doubles point, leading the Tigers (10-1) by a 5-4 margin in the No. 2 match when MU secured the point thanks to winning by a break, 6-4, in the third flight.
Missouri clinched the match with wins in the Nos. 1, 3 and 4 singles contests. When the dual ended, MSU freshman
Anna Alons was tied 4-4 in the second set of her No. 2 match after a set one loss, and the Bears held 1-0 leads in the first set of both the fifth and sixth flights.
