CEDAR FALLS, Iowa – The Missouri State women's tennis team moved up a doubles team and two individuals to the finals on day two of the Missouri Valley Conference Individual Championships at UNI Tennis Complex Saturday.
 
Anna Alons and Alyson Piskulic advanced to Sunday's championship round after handing Stony Brook an 8-5 loss in the second flight.
 
On the individual circuit, Ellie Burger and Piskulic each claimed a match win to earn a spot competing for a MVC Individual Championship. Burger continued her winning ways, cruising to a straight-set 6-1, 6-2 win in the third flight.
 
Newcomer Piskulic pulled away in the second set to clinch her own individual championship chance in the sixth flight, 7-6 (7-5), 6-2.  
 
Claire Martin, Alons, and Taylor Shaw will all play for a third-place finish in tomorrow's final round. Alye Darter and Burger battle for the same placement in doubles competition.
 
"Today was another strong day for us," said head coach Mallory Weber. "We will be well represented in the championship rounds tomorrow with some great opportunities for earning those individual championships."
