ST. LOUIS – The tandem of Anna Alons and Ellie Burger were selected as the Missouri Valley Conference doubles team of the week, as announced by the league Tuesday.
 
In the No. 1 doubles spot for Missouri State, Alons and Burger dominated to beat their SIUE opponents by a margin of 6-1. The Bears would go on to edge SIUE, 4-3 to earn their first win of the spring season. 
 
This is the duo's first MVC doubles recognition.
 
Missouri State will host Western Illinois and Creighton on Friday, Feb. 8 at Cooper Tennis Complex, with times of 10 a.m. and 7 p.m., respectively.
