SPRINGFIELD – Missouri State (3-1) was unable to overcome an early lead from the Little Rock Trojans (1-1-1) to fall 1-0 Friday night.

The Bears came out of the gate strong and launched five shots, but none of them were able to find the back of the net.

Little Rock recorded the only goal of the match with Jaclyn Purvine punching in the goal at the 26-minute mark to give the Trojans the 1-0 lead.

Missouri State had several opportunities, but were unable to connect to even the score, marking their first loss of the regular season.

Kaitlin Maxwell nabbed five saves on the night for another solid defensive performance.

The Bears outshot Little Rock, with six of their shots occurring in the opening period. Little Rock tightened their defensive game in the second half only allowing three chances.

Missouri State will continue their home stretch Sunday, Aug. 26 against Central Arkansas beginning at 1 p.m. at Betty & Bobby Allison South Stadium.
