NEWTON, Kan. – The Missouri State women's golf team continues their lead into day two of the Missouri Valley Conference Championship. The Bears put together a solid second round, by recording a 7-over par 295 day, bringing their 36-hole total to 24-over par 600, three shots ahead of Southern Illinois.
 
Rachel Johnson led the way for the Bears on the leaderboard, carding a 1-over par for the round and 5-over for the championship. Johnson currently sits in second place, just two shots behind the leader.
 
Posting the second best round of the day, Stine Pettersen marked a 2-under par 70 to move into a tie for third place.
 
Verena Gimmy finished the day 3-over par and is tied for sixth place, while Ashley Childers posted a 5-over par 77 to sit tied for 14^th. To round out the Bears lineup, Bridget Schulte recorded an 82.
 
The final round of the 2018 MVC Women's Golf Championship is scheduled to start at 8:30 a.m. off of holes one and 10. The Bears' tee times begin at 9:20 a.m. from hole one.
