NEWTON, Kan. – The Missouri State women's golf team continues their lead into day two of the Missouri Valley Conference Championship. The Bears put together a solid second round, by recording a 7-over par 295 day, bringing their 36-hole total to 24-over par 600, three shots ahead of Southern Illinois.
Rachel Johnson led the way for the Bears on the leaderboard, carding a 1-over par for the round and 5-over for the championship. Johnson currently sits in second place, just two shots behind the leader.
Posting the second best round of the day,
Stine Pettersen marked a 2-under par 70 to move into a tie for third place.
Verena Gimmy finished the day 3-over par and is tied for sixth place, while
Ashley Childers posted a 5-over par 77 to sit tied for 14
th. To round out the Bears lineup,
Bridget Schulte recorded an 82.
The final round of the 2018 MVC Women's Golf Championship is scheduled to start at 8:30 a.m. off of holes one and 10. The Bears' tee times begin at 9:20 a.m. from hole one.
