Bears Fall to 14th on Day Two at Mountain View

The 6,151 yard course at Mountain View Country Club proved to be a worthy opponent for the Missouri State women's golf team, as they fell to 14th in round two. The Bears have shot 301-315--616 over two days, ahead of Wyoming in the leaderboard. Kansas leads the pack shooting 589 and jumping ahead of San Jose State who trails by two strokes. Tied for third after shooting 592 are Wichita State, Central Arkansas, and Illinois.
 
Stine Pettersen once again saw success as she led the Bears for the second straight day. A birdie on the second hole was reinforced with no mistakes through the front nine to finish the course with a four-over par day. The senior has shot 73-76--149 over the last two rounds and is currently in 20th place. Ashley Childers fired off a 77 in round two to go five-over par. Currently in 32nd place, Childers has carded 75-77--152 going into round three. Verena Gimmy improved on her round one score by one to fire off 79-78--157 and jump up to 55th in the standings. Rachel Johnson posted an 84 to finish with 158 after day two. Bridget Shulte has carded 81-86--167 through two rounds.
 
In the individual standings, there is a four way tie for first between golfers from Kansas, New Mexico State and two from San Jose State. All four golfers are one-under par leading the next closest golfers by one.
 
Round three is set for 8 a.m. tee off from Tucson, Arizona.
