NORTHRIDGE, Calif. -- Missouri State split a pair of matches Wednesday afternoon at the Matador Beach Volleyball Facility, running its winning streak to four in a row with a 4-1 win against Colorado Mesa in the opener before falling 3-2 to a Cal State Northridge team that is receiving votes in the latest AVCA Top 20 poll. 

The Bears (4-3) nearly had their first sweep of the year against CMU (2-5), with only a 17-15 third-set loss coming between MSU and the 5-0 win. Missouri State's No. 3 team of Sarah Demmer and Caroline Finnell picked up their fourth consecutive win, as did Ivy Reynolds and Lynsey Wright in the fifth flight.

In the second match of the day, the Bears got another win from Reynolds and Wright in the No. 5 spot, as the pair improved to 5-2 on the season. Mikaela Mosquera and Sam Brinkmann also moved to 5-2 with a straight set victory in the No. 3 match, as MSU pushed the Matadors (9-1) in the narrow loss.

Missouri State returns to action Friday with matches against Cal State Bakersfield and Irvine Calley College in Irvine.
