Closing out the third and final day of the Rio Verde Invitational, the Missouri State women's golf team finished in 9th of the 17-team field. A three day total of 313-303-304--920 left the Bears in the middle of the pack, unable to overcome the 18-stroke deficit to overtake the leader, Seton Hall. Overtaking day two leader, Akron, Seton Hall came up victorious with 902 over three rounds. Akron was the runner up just one stroke behind at 903, Arkansas State (909) held steady at third followed by Bradley (913) and Wichita State (917) rounding out the top five.
 
Senior Verena Gimmy continued with her advance up the standings in round three, jumping four spots to number 11 with a three day total of 78-73-74--225. Birdies on two of the last four holes helped seal the deal on a 2-over par day for Gimmy as she led the Bears over the final two rounds. Rachel Johnson and Stine Pettersen each shot 77 and tied for 30th carding 231 on the weekend. Ashley Childers shot her best round of the weekend, firing just 76. Adding two her first two rounds of 80 and 79 to get 235. Niamh Lendrum shot a birdie to start the day but finished with 79 and carded 244 in her second tournament. As an individual, Ryan Pate fell to 46th in the standings after struggling with the front half of the course carding 76-77-83--236.
 
The Bears will be back in action March 12-13 for the Bradley Spring Break Invitational in Farmer's Branch, Texas.
