Michael Creek represent the Missouri State men's soccer squad on the Google Cloud Academic All-District VI team, as announced by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) on Thursday (Nov. 8).
Hiebert, a two time CoSIDA All-District team honoree, led the Bears to another impressive defensive season. The anchor of the Bears strong defensive line has started in all 16 matches for Missouri State, playing in all but 45 of the available minutes. The La Salle, Manitoba, Canada native has been key in the Bears' defense, recording a .69 goals-against-average, which is the eighth lowest GAA in the nation. The team captain also adds an assist and nine shot attempts. The junior has maintained a 4.0 cumulative GPA in accounting.
Creek has held up remarkable numbers, allowing only 11 goals in his rookie campaign. Starting all but one game this season, the St. Louis, Mo., native has logged six shutouts in 15 matches. Creek also recorded 42 saves, and holds a .69 goals-against-average, which is second in the league. The sophomore maintains a 3.99 cumulative GPA in accounting.
To qualify for the Capital One Academic All-District team, a nominee must hold a cumulative 3.30 grade point average, must have reached sophomore athletic and academic standing and must have participated in at least 50 percent of the team's games.
The No. 4 seeded Bears will take on top-seeded Central Arkansas Friday in a semifinal matchup of the MVC tournament slated for 6 p.m. on ESPN+. Live stats, as well as live updates, will be available for the contest.
