Soccer Bears Drop League Finale to Central Arkansas

SPRINGFIELD – The Missouri State men's soccer team (8-2-5, 2-2-2 MVC) drops a battle of a season finale to Central Arkansas, 1-0 on senior night.
 
Concluding the season with a 2-2-2 Missouri Valley Conference record, the Bears locked up the No. 4 seed and will face the host team No. 5 Evansville in the quarterfinals of the MVC Men's Soccer Championship, Wednesday in Evansville, Ind.
 
A late goal by UCA locked up the match and the MVC regular season title for Central Arkansas. The goal came off a free kick from Soren Jensen to Jake Bates for the score.
 
Missouri State recorded eight shots, led by Josh Dolling with four. The Bears held UCA to six shots with four aimed at goal and held Central Arkansas' leading scorer, Niklas Brodacki, to no shot attempts.
 
The Bears will now shift focus to the MVC Championship next week, where they will take on Evansville in the 6 p.m. time slot.
