Hot springs village, Ark. —- In a tight fight to the finish, the Missouri State women's golf team finished second at the Little Rock Classic. Late in the third round, Central Arkansas took a three stroke lead to overtake the Bears who shot 303-294-303–900. This marks the lowest team score since the MVC tournament (887)last spring and lowest regular season score since February 28, 2016 (896).
Rachel Johnson finished in second place, firing 72-67-76–214. Johnson was even through the back nine but couldn't make up the difference to hold back Western Kentucky's Megan Clarke.
Abby Cavaiani also placed in the top 10 shooting 76-72-72–220.
Allison Bray narrowly missed the top 20, tied for 21st the freshman carded 72-77-79–228. Senior
Ashley Childers jumped up in the leaderboard to tie for 61st with 84-78-76–238.
Faith Belmear had 86-84-83–253.
In the team standings, Central Arkansas (897) edged out the Bears (900) by three with UTEP (902) coming in third. Western Kentucky (904) was fourth followed by Lamar (907), South Alabama (909), Utah Valley (913), UMKC (920), and Houston Baptist tied for ninth with host Little Rock with 925.
