HOT SPRINGS VILLAGE, Ark. --- The Missouri State women's golf team kicked off their Fall season finale at the Little Rock Classic in Hot Springs Village, Ark. with a solid day one performance. The Bears are currently tied for fourth with Central Arkansas in the 16-team field. Only six strokes behind the leader, Missouri State is an early contender with a pair in the top five in the individual standings.
Pacing the team, senior
Rachel Johnson fired off a one-under par 71 tying for second going into round two. Johnson is followed closely by
Allison Bray who shot 72 and is currently tied for fourth.
Freshman
Abby Cavaiani is tied for 24th after carding 76 in the opening round.
Ashley Childers had 84 and
Faith Belmear rounded out the Bears lineup with 86. Competing as an individual,
Bridget Schulte shot 78 tying for 41st.
In the team standings, UTEP and South Alabama are tied for first with 297. Lamar (299) is currently third, followed by the Bears and UCA each with 303, ULM (304) is sixth, then Utah Valley (305), Houston Baptist (306), UT Arlington (307), and Western Kentucky (308) rounds out the top 10.
Round two will tee off of holes one and 10 starting at 9:00 a.m. CT tomorrow Oct. 29.
