SPRINGFIELD – The Missouri State women's cross country team will wrap up regular season action Friday afternoon at the Bradley Pink Classic in Peoria, Ill. This will serve as the first of three events the Bears will run in Peoria, Ill. this season.
The six-kilometer race will feature 37 Division I teams competing in five races at Newman Golf Course. The mixed open race will start at 2:30 p.m. featuring 10 Bears, while the red race will start at 3:15 p.m. with Grace Breiten, Jordyn Capra, Erica Wollmering, Paityn Howat and Mercedes Robinson.
Last year in this event the Bears finished in a strong 17th place out of 31 in the Red Race, led by Jessica Allen who finished 10th overall.
Three weeks ago at the Chile Pepper Festival the Bears recorded sixth place overall (211 points) and fourth place among DI programs. Breiten led the way for the Bears, marking a 17:39.6 5K race, earning MVC Athlete of the Week honors.
