The Missouri State volleyball team (11-5, 3-0 Missouri Valley Conference) sits atop the league standings after one weekend of play and hosts Indiana State (4-10, 2-0) at 7 p.m. Friday and Evansville (6-8, 0-2) at 7 p.m. Saturday at Hammons Student Center.
   The Bears have won their last 19 regular-season MVC matches for the sixth-longest streak in league history, a run that began with a Sept. 30, 2016 victory at UNI.
The Opponents
Indiana State is 4-10 overall but has won three of its last four matches, including victories against Evansville and Bradley. Laura Gross leads the Sycamores with 3.51 kills and 3.56 digs per set, and ISU hits .207 as a team compared to .246 for the opposition with averages of 12.04 kills, 1.04 aces, 15.70 digs and 1.68 blocks per set.
   Evansville 6-8 on the year after opening league play with losses to Indiana State and Illinois State. The Purple Aces, who opened the season with five consecutive wins, hit .166 as a team and limit opponents to .184 while averaging 11.61 kills, 1.46 aces, 15.82 digs and 1.80 aces per set.
Series Histories
MSU leads the all-time series with Indiana State by a 61-1 margin, with the Bears' lone loss occurring in five sets in 1994. Since then, the Bears have reeled off 47 straight wins against the Sycamores.
   The Bears lead Evansville by a 44-3 margin, losing just twice since 1999.
