ST. LOUIS, Mo. -- Missouri State Men's Soccer standout
Kyle Hiebert was honored Wednesday as the Missouri Valley Conference Enterprise Bank Scholar-Athlete of the Week.
Hiebert owns a 4.00 cumulative grade point average in Accounting. The sophomore defender, played every minute of MSU's current two shutout wins during the week. The La Salle, Manitoba, Canada native played a huge role in MSU's four game winning streak and three consecutive shutouts. The Bears defense allowed 17 shot attempts with none finding the back of the net in 1-0 wins over UMKC and Evansville. Hiebert has also made an impact of the offensive end with six shot attempts this season.

To qualify for MVC Scholar-Athlete of the Week laurels, student-athletes must carry a cumulative GPA of 3.20, completed at least one academic year at a Valley institution and must be at least a sophomore in academic standing. Redshirt freshmen and first-year junior college transfers are not eligible. In addition to the academic qualifications, student-athletes will be evaluated on their athletic performance for a one-week period.
He is the second Bear this season to earn the award, joining
Liam Priestley on Sept. 20. The Bears return to action Saturday night against Valparaiso at 7 p.m. at home. The Bears will put the seventh longest win streak in the NCAA on the line, siting at four-straight. For all of the latest information on the Missouri State men's soccer team, visit
