
Bears Win Fourth Straight with Shutout of Evansville

SPRINGFIELD – The Missouri State men's soccer team pulled off its fourth straight win Saturday with a 1-0 shutout victory over Evansville. The Bears improved to 5-2-1 (2-0 MVC) with their third straight shutout.
"I'm extremely proud of our effort tonight and the way our team performed in a big conference match," said MSU head coach Jon Leamy.
Junior forward Conor Ingram came through in the clutch once again for the Bears, punching in the game-winning goal at the 52:24 minute mark off an assist from Ian Jones. The goal came from 10 yards out and marks Ingram's fifth score of the season.
The Bears kept Evansville to 11 total shots during the game with just five on goal – three in the second half.
MSU senior Liam Priestley held up his fifth shutout of the season and 19th in his carrier.
Offensively, the Bears got off 12 total shots with six shots on goal, a season high. Ingram led the way with four shots while teammate Harry Lewis who recorded three shots in the match.
The Bears will be back in action on Saturday, Sept 30 against Valparaiso at Betty and Bobby Allison South Stadium at 7 p.m.
