Volleyball Alum Cecile Reynaud Honored by MSU

SPRINGFIELD -- The Missouri State University Alumni Association will honor former MSU volleyball player Cecile Reynaud June 24 with its Bears of Excellence Award, given to uniquely accomplished alumni from diverse academic, professional and personal backgrounds.

Reynaud, an MSU Athletics Hall of Famer, will be recognized at the Bears of Distinction Dinner and Awards Ceremony is at 6:30 p.m. June 24 in the Plaster Student Union Ballroom. The event is open to the public, and reservations can be made by calling the alumni relations office at 417-836-5654. Tickets are $25 per person.

A 1975 MSU graduate, Reynaud was a four-year letterwinner for MSU volleyball squads that accumulated nearly 200 victories, four state titles and three regional crowns with her in the lineup. She was twice named to the Outstanding College Athletes of America.

She went on to serve has head volleyball coach at Florida State from 1976-2001, compiling a 635-325-1 career record. She has held many national and international leadership positions related to volleyball, including work with several Olympic events, serving on the Board of Directors of USA Volleyball and providing color commentary for volleyball on networks including ESPN, FOX and Sun Sports.
