Golf Bears Tied for Ninth in Dallas

ORU/ SFA Spring Break Invite Round One

The Missouri State women's golf team started their spring break at the ORU/ SFA Spring Break Invite in Dallas, Texas. Led in round one by Ashley Childers who fired off a 75 to tie for fifth. Childers' 3-over par puts her six behind the individual leader, Sophie Levin (69) from Eastern Kentucky. One shot behind Childers is teammate Caroline Boone with 76 in a tie for ninth.

Competing as an individual, Stine Pettersen shot a 79 in round one. Tied for 54th, Lindsey Eisenreich and Verena GImmy each shot 82 on the day. Rounding out the Bears squad, Rachel Johnson fell one behind Eisenreich and Gimmy to tie for 61st.

As a team, the Bears are tied with Northern Iowa for ninth with 315 points. Leading the 16-team field is Eastern Kentucky with 302. Host Oral Roberts is second followed by Fairleigh Dickenson University with Bowling Green State, Montana, Alabama State, Northern Colorado, and Louisiana- Monroe rounding up the top 10.
Round two action starts Tuesday morning (Mar. 14) at 8:30 a.m. CT
