Bears Spring into action at Rio Verde Invitational

The Missouri State women's golf team sits in 12th place of 19 teams after round one of the Rio Verde Invitation in Rio Verde, Arizona. The Bears shot 312 in their opening day on Friday (Feb. 24), just 17 strokes off the leading UMKC Roos.

Caroline Boone paced the Bears and is tied for eighth with a 2-over 74. Junior Verena Gimmy sits close behind after firing a 78 on day one but is in a 13-way tie for 37th. Senior Lindsey Eisenreich, sophomore Rachel Johnson, and freshman Ryan Pate each had 80 for the Bears.

Competing as an Individual, sophomore Ashley Childers shot 87.

Round two starts Saturday at 11:00 a.m. CT with the final round set for Sunday.
