Missouri State looks for its fourth Valley road win of the 2016-17 conference tour when the Bears travel to Peoria Wednesday evening (7 p.m.) to take on the upstart Bradley Braves on KOZL-TV and the MSU Television Network.

Series History
Missouri State leads the all-time series against Bradley, 37-19, with the Bears winning the last four meetings and 11 of the last 13. The Bears are 12-14 in Peoria with two straight wins at Carver Arena.
On Jan. 21 in Springfield, Missouri State used a 10-0 run late in the second half to close out a 76-62 home win over Bradley, giving the Bears their 100th win at JQH Arena.
MSU got a game-high 24 points from Dequon Miller, who posted a career high for the second straight game, while Chris Kendrix contributed 17 off the bench, and Alize Johnson notched his 12th double-double of the campaign with 13 points and 13 rebounds.  Kendrix also posted 4 steals for the home side, which won its 100th game at JQH Arena.
Bradley was led by Donte Thomas' 17 points and 7 rebounds, while Jayden Hodgson added 16 points.
MSU never trailed after falling behind 2-0 in the opening minute and led by as many as 16 in the second half.

Scouting the Braves
Second-year head coach Brian Wardle has five starters and seven lettermen back from 5-27 club that was 3-15 (9th) in the MVC standings. The Braves are 6-7 at home this season.
Leading the way for the Braves is freshman Darrell Brown (G, 5-10) who is averaging 12.4 points with 43 3-pointers and 82 assists. Juco transfer JoJo McGlaston (F, 6-5) is averaging 8.6 points, 3.9 rebounds and has 31 treys.

The Ten Count
  • Missouri State's 7 single-possession losses this season (losses by 3 points or less) is second-most in the nation, trailing only Mercer's 8 close losses among all Division I programs. Texas, Kennesaw State and Bryant also have seven narrow losses this season in the Division I ranks. Five of the Bears close losses have come in MVC play.
  • MSU is just 7 3-pointers shy of matching the club single-season record of 252 set in 2009-10. With 245 treys, the Bears are averaging 8.45 treys per game, which is on pace to break the team's per-game mark of 7.36 set in 2006-07.
  • Jarred Dixon (So., Kansas City, Mo.) has scored in double figures in 6 of the last 7 games. He is averaging 12.0 points per game since Jan. 28 and has 21 assists, 5 three-pointers and 8 steals in that span.
  • Alize Johnson (Jr., Williamsport, Pa.) continues to lead The Valley with 10.7 rebounds per game. He ranks 16th nationally in double-doubles (15) and 15th in rebounds per game. He has 19 double-figure rebound games this year.
  • MSU has matched or out-rebounded 15 of 16 league foes this season. Only Evansville (Feb. 4) has bettered the Bears on the glass during conference play. MSU ranks 33rd nationally in rebound margin (+6.2).
  • Chris Kendrix (Jr., Willard, Mo.) is 2 points shy of 700 for his career.
  • Obediah Church (So., Springfield, Ill.) leads the MVC and ranks 19th nationally in blocked shots per game (2.52) He is also 17th in total blocks (68). Church has climbed to No. 5 on MSU's career list (118), just 59 games into his career.
  • Since the MVC began recognizing Newcomers of the Week in 2003-04, only one player -- seven-time winner Doug McDermott of Creighton (2010-11) -- has won the rookie honor more times than MSU's Johnson (now a 6x winner).
  • Jarrid Rhodes (Jr., Palmetto, Fla.) averaged 10.3 points in 3 games last week while shooting 47.8 percent.
  • Johnson's 23 points and 21 rebounds at Drake on Saturday is his second 23-20 game of the season -- exactly a month apart. Only Caleb Swanigan of Purdue (three times) has accomplished a 23-20 more than once this season.
