Series History
Loyola leads the all-time series, 6-2, including a 2-1 mark at JQH Arena in Springfield. The Bears are playing for their third season split with the Ramblers in four years. Since the Ramblers joined the MVC in 2013-14, LUC holds a 5-2 edge with the teams splitting their two meetings last season.

On Jan. 15 at Gentile Arena, Loyola used the momentum of a six-point possession with four minutes to play to take a 77-71 win in Chicago, despite 20 points and 10 rebounds from Alize Johnson and 16 points from Dequon Miller. Chris Kendrix also scored 15 off the bench with 6 rebounds for MSU, which shot an even 50 percent, dropped in 9 3-pointers and out-rebounded the Ramblers, 31-25. Aundre Jackson led three LUC players in double figures, with Milton Doyle scoring 18 points for the winning side.

Scouting the Ramblers
Sixth-year head coach Porter Moser has three starters and six lettermen back from a 15-17 club that was 7-11 (8th) in the MVC last season.

The Ramblers are 4-5 in true road games this season and have won four of their last five. Senior Milton Doyle leads LUC with 15.7 points per game to go with 4.8 rebounds, 102 assists and 36 steals. Junior forward Aundre Jackson has contributed 14.5 points, 4.0 rebounds and is shooting 71.0 percent from the field. Junior Donte Ingram has tallied 13.9 points and 6.5 rebounds for LUC.

The Ten Count
  • A total of 258 Missouri State student-athletes will be recognized at halftime as honorees on the MSU's Athletic    Director's Honor Roll for the fall semester. That number representes 62.5 percent of all Missouri State athletes.
  • Alize Johnson (Jr., Williamsport, Pa.) continues to lead the league with 10.7 rebounds per game. He ranks 8th nationally in double-doubles (13) and 13th in rebounds. He averaged 21.5 points and 10.5 rebounds last week.
  • MSU's 196 3-pointers this season puts it on the verge of becoming the eighth team in program history to reach 200 treys in a season. The 2013-14 team (230) was the most-recent to do so with the 2009-10 club hitting a record 252.
  • The Bears have not been out-rebounded in 11 games. USC (Dec. 22) was the last team to better MSU on the glass.
  • Dequon Miller (Sr., Charleston, W.Va.) has scored     in double figures in 9 of 10 MVC games and is averaging 15.9 points per game against Valley foes. The 2016 MVC Newcomer of the Year is also averaging 4.2 assists and a team-best 20 3-pointers in conference ball games. With 97 assists, he has already surpassed his 2015-16 season total.
  • Obediah Church (So., Springfield, Ill.) led the team with 9 rebounds and shared team-high honors with 4 assists in Saturday's game at Southern Illinois. It matched a season-high for rebounds for Church and his most since Dec. 19.
  • At 701 career points, Dequon Miller is just 5 shy of Randy Stange (1983-85) for 70th place on MSU's career scoring list with Bobby Howard (716), Christian Kirk (718), Lee Campbell (719) and Caleb Patterson (721) within range.
  • MSU is looking for its third season series split with Loyola in four seasons as league foes.
  • The Bears have dropped five games by three points or less, which marks the team's most single-possession defeats since their Sweet Sixteen season of 1998-99. MSU enters the week with back-to-back one-point losses, both in OT.
  • Paced by Aundre Jackson's .707 shooting percentage, the Ramblers rank sixth nationally in team field goal percentage (.506). Loyola also ranks among the nation's top teams in 3-point percentage (.405), which ranks 12th.
