SPRINGFIELD -- Missouri State picked up its seventh victory in eight home matches Friday afternoon with a 5-2 dual win against visiting Tennessee State at Cooper Tennis Complex.

The Bears opened the contest with a pair of impressive doubles victories, as Alye Darter and Phoebe Boeschen won 6-1 in the No. 2 slot, and Alexia Meyer and Abbey Belote grabbed a 6-2 victory in No. 3 doubles. MSU's tandem of Fati Khamissi and Ekaterina Donetskova also led their match 4-3 when the Bears won the doubles point.

Missouri State earned straight-set wins in each of the first three singles matches completed, including a dominant 6-0, 6-0 victory in the No. 2 spot by Anelisse Torrico Moreno in her first action of the year. 

Boeschen and Meyer finished off their victories shortly thereafter to secure the match for the Bears, and Donetskova added the final point for her third consecutive singles win and an MSU sweep in the fourth through sixth spots.

The Bears and Tigers meet again at 10 a.m. Saturday.
