TULSA, Okla. – Sophomore Brooke Prondzinski tallied the first goal of the season for Missouri State (0-3-1) in the Bears' 3-1 loss at Tulsa (2-2-1) on Friday (Sept. 2).

"We played more aggressive tonight offensively but it is hard to win on the road and it has been a challenge for us this season," commented head coach Rob Brewer. "The teams we have played so far this season have started out hot and we're still waiting for our moment."

In the opening seconds of the match, MSU's Rachel Catrell dribbled down the field to find teammate Prondzinski three yards out from the mouth of the goal. Prondzinski was able to net her fourth-career goal, and first goal of the season, off of a cross pass from Catrell to put the Bears ahead 22 seconds into the match.

The goal by Prondzinski is the second-fastest goal scored by MSU in program history. The fastest goal recorded by the Bears came one second faster by Becky Handley in 2009.

The Golden Hurricane quickly answered by scoring a goal of their own 39 seconds later to tie the game at one goal apiece.

"We started the game with a lot of fire," said Brewer. "Unfortunately, when an opponent scores a goal that quickly after us, it is a momentum killer."

The final two goals by Tulsa would be scored by Rachel Thun, who tallied seven shots, two goals and one assist on the night.

The Bears will face Oral Roberts on Sunday (Sept. 4) before returning home for a four-game home stand beginning Sept. 9. The game between MSU and the Golden Eagles is slated for a 1 p.m. kickoff.
