SPRINGFIELD - Missouri State volleyball players Emily Butters, Lily Johnson and Lynsey Wright spent their offseason playing for the U.S. Collegiate National Team. The trio were each among the 60 players selected from a February tryout of more than 220 of the nation's top collegiate volleyball standouts that took place at the U.S. Olympic Training Center in Colorado Springs.

Johnson was one of 12 athletes to earn a spot with the U.S. Collegiate National Team Europe Tour, which spent time in Italy and earned a gold medal at the Global Challenge in July in Pula, Croatia. Butters and Wright were among 36 players to attend the U.S. Collegiate National Team-Indianapolis program.
