US Collegiate National Team-Indianapolis Roster

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. -- USA Volleyball announced Friday (April 8) that Missouri State's Emily Butters and Lynsey Wright will train and compete as part of the U.S. Collegiate National Team-Indianapolis program after impressive showings at the U.S. Women's National Team Open Tryouts held in February.

The squad, which is part of USA Volleyball's High Performance pipeline and is considered a second tryout for the U.S. Women's National Team, will train and compete from June 21-30 in Indianapolis. After the program is divided into three 12-player rosters from the training portion, the competition phase involving a round-robin tournament of the three squads will take place June 26-29 under the same roof as the USA Volleyball Girls' Junior National Championships.

Butters set Missouri State's freshman record for total digs in 2015, finishing with 568 on the season for the No. 5 overall mark in school history. She earned a spot in the Missouri Valley Conference All-Freshman team, and was a two-time MVC Freshman of the Week in November.

A native of Richmond, Texas, Butters ranked sixth in the MVC with 4.21 digs per set, and fourth in league contests with a 4.51 average. She had at least 10 digs in 30 matches, leading the Bears 25 times, and scooped at least 20 digs in eight matches, with highs of 29 against both UNI (10/10) and Wichita State (11/28).

Wright ranked second on the Bears last season with 350 kills, 90 blocks and a .280 attack efficiency in 33 matches. The junior-to-be had 10 or more kills 18 times, and topped the 20-mark on two occasions, including a career-high 24 at Southern Illinois.

The Glen Carbon, Ill., product hit above .300 in 14 matches, and earned all-tournament honors at the MVC meet in part because of a 15-kill performance in which she hit .700 in MSU's semifinal victory over SIU.

Also competing for USA Volleyball this summer is MSU junior-to-be Lily Johnson, who was selected last month for the exclusive U.S. Collegiate National Team Europe Tour roster, which competes in Italy and Croatia in July.

The Bears finished the 2015 season 24-11 overall and 13-5 in the Missouri Valley Conference, earning a spot in the NCAA Tournament for the eighth time since 2003.
