Saturday's Series Opener at Loyola Cancelled

April 2, 2016

CHICAGO, Ill. - Morning snow and continued frigid temperatures have forced the cancellation of the opening game of the weekend series between the Missouri State softball team (13-16, 2-3) and Loyola (16-12, 0-5) in Chicago on Saturday. The two teams will play a doubleheader on Sunday beginning at 12:00 p.m.

The Bears lead the all-time series against the Ramblers that included a sweep by MSU in Springfield last season. Loyola has played just one game at home this season, a 9-6 win over Northern Illinois on Wednesday.

Missouri State will return to Killian Stadium for a five-game home stand following this weekend's action in Chicago. The Bears host Central Arkansas on April 6 at 6:00 p.m. as a makeup game from the postponed original MSU home opener on March 8. The home weekend series against SIU on April 9-10 will feature a reunion of the 1996, 1997, 1998 and 2006 championship teams as part of Legacy Weekend. A free youth clinic will be held after the April 10 game.
