Day One Results
The Missouri State women's golf team endured a tough first round at the Missouri Valley Conference Championship here Sunday (Apr. 17). The Bears had just one player break 80 and shot 320 to sit 10th after the opening 18 holes at the Harborside International Port Course.
Sophomore Stine Pettersen led the way for MSU, carding a 77, good for a tie for 19th place. Junior Caroline Boone posted 80, while senior Megan Furnish had 81, Verena Gimmy 82 and Ashley Childers 85.
Pre-tournament favorite Wichita State has the lead after the first round after shooting 297, two better than Bradley, which notched 299. Indiana State is third with 306, while Loyola and Southern Illinois round out the top five with 307 and 310, respectively.
Monday's action begins at 8:30 a.m. with the tournament's second round. The final round is slated for Tuesday.
