SPRINGFIELD, Mo. - Abundant rain in the forecast for Tuesday afternoon has forced the postponement of the Missouri State softball team's home opener versus Central Arkansas, head coach Holly Hesse announced on Monday. The game has been rescheduled for Wednesday, April 6 at 6:00 p.m. at Killian Stadium.

The Bears (9-8) will now open the home slate on March 19 with the MVC opener against Illinois State. The 12:00 p.m. doubleheader against the Redbirds annually features the two winningest coaches in Valley softball history.

MSU will travel to Fayetteville, Ark., on Wednesday for a single game against the Razorbacks beginning at 5:00 p.m. The Bears head to Lawrence, Kan., this weekend for five games beginning on Friday afternoon.

Tickets for Bears home games this season can be purchased at the Killian Stadium box office on the day of the game. Season tickets are available and can be purchased by calling the MSU ticket office at 417-836-8899.
