PINE BLUFF, Ark. - Four Missouri State players earned straight set sweeps in singles to give the Bears their second dual victory of the season, 4-0, over Arkansas Pine Bluff Sunday, Feb. 21, at the Pine Bluff Country Club.
The Bears improved to 2-9 with the win while also ending a stretch of nine consecutive road duals. MSU is scheduled to host Saint Louis next at 1 p.m. Friday, Feb. 26, at Cooper Tennis Complex in Springfield.
MSU's Ema Turudija, Miranda Poile, Ekaterina Donetskova and Abbey Belote each earned straight set 6-0, 6-0 victories over the Golden Lions (0-10) in Nos. 1-4 singles. MSU clinched the dual with the four singles victories that began the match.
The Bears begin a three-match stretch of home duals beginning with Saint Louis Friday, followed by a 1 p.m. match on March 4 versus Omaha and an 11 a.m. match on March 6 against Southeast Missouri State.
