Missouri State kicks off the Continental Tire Las Vegas Classic with a pair of home games, starting Saturday afternoon at 5 p.m. against in-state rival Southeast Missouri State in the 147th meeting between the two clubs. The preliminary round continues Monday evening at 8:30 against Chicago State before the Bears head to Orleans Arena in Las Vegas for the semifinals and finals, Dec. 22-23.

Series History
Missouri State will renew its longest-standing rivalry when the Bears and Redhawks match up at JQH Arena for the second of two games between the clubs this season. The series began in 1911 and includes 146 previous meetings. MSU holds the all-time advantage 91-55, including a 61-13 mark in Springfield (1-1 at JQH Arena). The Bears are 5-3 against Southeast as Division I foes. Bears' head coach

The Bears are also 1-1 all-time against Chicago State, splitting a home-and-home series in 1981-82 with the Bears winning 84-62 at Hammons Student Center (1/28/82) and the Cougars avenging the loss in chicago, 75-73 (2/20/82). Keith Hilliard was MSU's top scorer in both games, posting 15 on the Cougars in the first matchup and 25 in the second. Bobby Howard added 20 points in the second game with Ricky Johnson accounting for 21 total rebounds in the two games.

- Alize Johnson (Jr., Williamsport, Pa.) is coming off his third straight double-double and fourth in five games with a 20-point, 16-rebound effort in Wednesday's win over Oral Roberts. He ranks 30th nationally in FG pct. (.602) and 53rd in rebounding average (9.0).
- Johnson's 16 rebounds against ORU marked the most by any MSU player under sixth-year head coach Paul Lusk.
- The Bears have led at the half in 8 of 9 games this season (6-2) and are 58-19 under Lusk when leading at the break.
- Missouri State's 25 offensive rebounds vs. ORU matched a JQH Arena record and was the team's most since securing 20 offensive caroms vs. Indiana State on senior night -- March 6, 2011.
