-- Missouri State volleyball coach Melissa Stokes
announced Wednesday (Nov. 9) that Alyssa Doucette signed a National Letter of Intent to play for the Bears beginning in 2017.
A 6-foot middle blocker from Eagan High School in Eagan, Minn., Doucette has been a part of two state championship clubs and another runner-up team with the Wildcats. She has helped Eagan to a 22-0 record and South Suburban Conference title entering the 2016 state tournament, a year after the team went 28-4 and claimed a 3-2 win in the 2015 Class AAA championship match against Prior Lake.
"Alyssa has been playing the game of volleyball at a very high level for a long time," said Stokes of latest addition to the MSU program. "Between her successful high school program and her competitive club experience, Alyssa will bring a very high volleyball IQ into our gym. She is fast, explosive and can hit a variety of sets along the net, which will allow her to make an immediate impact on our program."
Doucette earned honorable mention all-conference honors as a sophomore and junior, and made the European Global Challenge all-tournament team and won a national championship while playing with her AAU squad.
