EVANSVILLE, Ind. -- Missouri State freshman
Alexia Meyer advanced to the championship match in No. 6 singles, and three other Bears moved on to the third-place match in their respective flights Sunday at the MVC Individual Tennis Championship at Wesselman Tennis Center.
Meyer won her semifinal match in straight sets (6-4, 6-3) over Evansville's Nicoli Pereira, while
Anelisse Torrico Moreno and
Phoebe Boeschen each dropped their semifinal contests and will play for third place on Monday. Boeschen will also play for third in doubles, teaming with freshman
Alye Darter in the No. 1 flight against Evansville.
In the consolation bracket, senior
Ekaterina Donetskova topped UNI's Syndey Wolfe, 6-4, 6-2, to claim fifth place in the No. 5 spot.
The final day of the MVC Championship begins Monday at 9 a.m.
