Box Score ATHENS, Ohio – Junior
Andrea Soler Codina netted her third goal of the season early in the first half however, it was not enough to overcome Ohio's three goals in the Bears' 3-1 loss to the Bobcats Friday afternoon.
Sophomore
Kayla Jordan got things started for the Bears in the 4
th minute, firing off the first two shots of the match. In the 11
th minute of the match, Soler Codina got the Bears on the board with her third goal of the season, slipping the ball into the net past Ohio goalkeeper Alex Pennington.
Ohio answered Missouri State's goal, scoring in the 23
rd minute off a penalty corner. Two minutes later, the Bobcats struck again off a penalty corner to take a 2-1 lead.
Coming out of the half, the Bear defense kept Ohio from scoring until the 63
rd minute when the Bobcats netted their third goal of the game off a deflected pass.
Sophomore goalkeeper
Feli Heinzel (1-6) finished the match with five saves, recording one in the first half and four in the second.
