SPRINGFIELD, Mo. – Coming off its first conference win of the season, the Missouri State field hockey team prepares for its final two home matches of the season this weekend against Ball State (Friday, 3 p.m.) and Davidson (Sunday, 11 a.m.)
Following Friday's match, the Bears will host a free 45-minute clinic for all children ages 6-12. Participants are encouraged to bring mouth guards and shin guards. Waivers for the clinic will be available at the match.
The team's four seniors will be honored during pregame ceremonies on Sunday, prior to MSU's non-conference finale against Davidson.

Series History
Ball State
Ball State holds a 16-10 series lead over the Bears. The Bears won the last contest between the two teams in a 2-0 decision. The last Cardinal victory was on Oct. 11, 2014 when Ball State won the match 5-0.
Davidson
The Bears boast a 10-2 series record over the Davidson Wildcats, winning the last four matches between the two teams. The last Wildcat victory dates back to Sept. 29, 2002 where the Bears lost 1-0.

In the Bear's first victory of the 2015 season,
Charlie Redhead and
Kimberleigh Eng scored consecutive goals within four minutes of each other to help secure a 2-0 win. Redhead scored in the 53
rd minute to put the Bears up 1-0 followed by Eng, who scored the final goal of the match.
Bear Bites
- Missouri State enters Friday's match with a 2-9 overall record and a 1-3 mark in Mid-American Conference play. The Bears earned their first conference victory Saturday, Oct. 15 against Central Michigan, edging the Chippewas 2-1.
- Andrea Soler Codina and Liz Young lead the squad with four goals each while Soler Codina boasts a team-leading 11 points this season. Young follows closely with 10 points and has two assists on the season. Brynne Satre, Bianca Mills and Soler Codina lead the Bears with three assists each.
- Defensively, Satre ties third in the conference and leads Missouri State with two defensive saves this season. Sophomore goalkeeper Feli Heinzel (2-6) has tallied 42 saves, averaging 4.67 saves per game. Senior Megan Drew has seen 245 minutes in the cage, totaling 29 saves during the 2016 season.
- The Bears are led by Catherine Ostoich, who is in her first year at the helm for Missouri State.
A Look At The Competition
Ball State
Ball State carries a 6-9 overall record and is 1-2 in MAC play. The Cardinals have lost to several Missouri State competitors including Davidson and conference opponents Kent State and Ohio.
Mikayla Mooney, who has recorded four goals and 10 points, leads the Cardinal offense. Lexi Kavanaugh and Darbi Gullett have each tallied three goals on the season. Collectively, the Cardinals have only scored 19 goals this season.
Jordan Dues, the everyday goalkeeper for the Cardinals, leads the league with 76 saves. Dues has put in 1033 minutes in the cage for Ball State while allowing 34 goals. The senior has one shutout on the season.
Christy Longacre is in her first year as head coach of the Cardinals.
Davidson
Davidson enters Sunday's match with a 4-12 overall record and will take on Missouri State's in-state foe, Saint Louis, on Friday, Oct. 21. The Wildcats have faced off against a pair of Bear opponents, LIU Brooklyn and Saint Francis.
Offensively, Katherine English leads the Wildcats with seven goals and 19 points off of 36 shots. English has five assists on the season and carries a .194 shooting percentage. Courtney Byler leads the squad with nine assists.
The Wildcats have recorded a total of seven defensive saves on the season. Byler leads the squad with four, Anna Brewer follows Byler with two and Lauren Gamper has tallied one defensive save. Bean Rodriguez has seen the most time in the cage this season, racking up 1048 minutes. Rodriguez carries 68 saves on the season while allowing 43 goals.
Head coach Ginny Turner is in her 11
th season at the helm for Davidson.
