The Missouri State women's golf team was slow out of the starting blocks Monday (Oct. 17) and is in 11th place after 36 holes at the Memphis Intercollegiate. The Bears shot 315-312--627 in two trips around Ridgeway Country Club in suburban Memphis in their fourth outing of the fall season.

Caroline Boone and junior
Verena Gimmy led the way for MSU with 155 totals, placing them in a tie for 26th place; Boone posted 78-77, while Gimmy shot 75-80. Sophomore
Rachel Johnson had 81-77--158, while senior
Lindsey Eisenreich shot 82-78--160 and sophomore
Ashley Childers 81-80--161.
Host Memphis has the lead after the first day after shooting 300-298--598, just ahead of Houston Baptist, which carded 300-299--599. Murray State is third at 604, with Florida International (610) and Tennessee Tech (613) rounding out the top five. in the 13-team field.
Tuesday's final round is slated for an 8:15 a.m. shotgun start.
