Tennis Bears Pick Up Three Wins on Final Day in Minnesota

MINNEAPOLIS -- The Missouri State tennis team grabbed three victories Saturday during its final day of competition at the ITA Central Regional Championship at Baseline Tennis Center.

"I'm happy with the way we closed out the tournament," said head coach Mallory Weber. " We got a lot of high quality matches and continued to improve each day."

MSU's Alye Darter and Anelisse Torrico Moreno split a pair of matches in the doubles consolation bracket by identical 8-7 (4) scores, opening with a victory over the duo from South Dakota State before falling to host Minnesota in the round of 16.

Darter picked up her second win of the day by defeating Nebraska's Sydney Harlow, 6-2, 6-2, in the non-bracketed portion of the singles consolation draw. Fati Khamissi also earned a win in the same draw, beating Omaha's Kenzie Hill in straight sets. Torrico Moreno fell in the main consolation round of 32 to Wichita State's Giulia Guidetti.

The Bears conclude their home season Oct. 28 and 29 when they host a tournament at Cooper Tennis Complex.
