SPRINGFIELD -- Missouri State Director of Athletics Kyle Moats announced Friday (Oct. 14) that Melissa Goodman has been named assistant director of athletics for business administration.
 
She will be responsible for all phases of the business operation for the athletics department, which includes development and management of the annual budget and the supervision of daily business operations.
 
Goodman has been a part of the MSU family for the past seven years, most recently as a financial aid counselor for the University. In that capacity, she has worked with departmental operational budgets and systems, including management of over $4.6 million in athletics scholarships. She also brings proficiency in Banner, Argos and the scholarship management system to MSU Athletics and the 17 intercollegiate programs it oversees.
 
"We are pleased to welcome Melissa to Missouri State Athletics," said Moats. "She has been a valuable asset to the University for most of her professional career, and we're excited for her to be joining our administrative team and senior staff in Athletics."
 
Goodman is a 2007 graduate of Missouri State, graduating with magna cum laude and dean's list honors with a degree in Anthropology.
 
She is also a member of the National Association of Student Financial Aid Administrators, Missouri Association of Student Financial Aid Personnel, Midwest Association of Student Financial Aid Administrators and Ozark Area Key Financial Aid Personnel.
 
A native of Warrensburg, Mo., she and her son, Jackson, live in Springfield.
 
Her hire is contingent upon final approval by the MSU Board of Governors at its next scheduled meeting.
