SPRINGFIELD -- Missouri State will send four members of its women's tennis team to Minneapolis this week to compete in the USTA/ITA Central Region Championships hosted by the University of Minnesota. Play begins at Baseline Tennis Center on Thursday, Oct. 13 and continues through championship matches on Oct. 17.

Nearly 200 players will participate in the double-elimination singles bracket beginning at 8 a.m. Thursday, with Missouri State's entries including senior Ekaterina Donetskova, junior Anelisse Torrico Moreno, sophomore Fati Khamissi and freshman Alye Darter.

In doubles play, Donetskova will pair with Khamissi and Darter will join Torrico Moreno in the 64-team bracket, scheduled to begin Friday morning. 

Second and third rounds of the singles main draw are scheduled for Friday with consolation singles matches also taking place during the day. No live scoring will be available, however live video of matches taking place on the six indoor courts is available on the women's tennis page at www.GopherSports.com

The ITA Regional Championships Presented by Oracle feature some of the top men's and women's players across the country. Over 8,000 student-athletes from NCAA Division I, II, III, NAIA, Junior and Community Colleges compete across 85 ITA Regional Championships around the country.
